I initially did, but now Im in a senior position at work (so don't wear a uniform) and I get to dress up which makes up for it nicely

71Do you miss "dressing up" for the meetings?
by dozy ini was thinking about this the other day when doing a bit of tidying up of my wardrobe.
all the kh suits are now pushed to the back of the wardrobe and i am seriously thinking about a visit to the charity shop to get rid of most of them.. for me one of the (few) enjoyable aspects of being a jw was getting dressed up.
my secular work very rarely involves putting on a dress suit & tie so i miss getting dressed up - smart suit , tie , shiny shoes , slapping on the aftershave.

Well, way back when (2002/3) I just avoided the last few talks I was given. I'd call and say that I couldnt' do it before hand. Saying im sick or something. The school overseer ended up talking to me after a few times probably times and i asked if I could have a break.
Then I just started not attending meetings. I went every now and then. and then just abruptly stopped.
When i was doing the talks i would have panic attacks in the hall. I use to do sign language interpreting at the KH too, but i ended up having panic attacks with everyone looking at me...so i use to sit up the back of the hall...
having said that I now work in health and conduct education sessions to all sorts of healthcare workers, doctors, nurses, allied health, cleaners etc and even up to the department of health. I get good commendations re my presentations everytime. I love public speaking...
I just think the panic attacks had to do with the borg..,.

Many do not. I know a few personally that did not. There is an ms/elder that I know whose ex-wife told me they had sex before marriage. They never confessed to anyone.
Most noble - Do you taste the chicken you buy at the shop before bringing it home?.
Is that what you think of women? There is a lot more variance between humans/love/sex than a piece of breast.

Well its apparently reported that she did reveal information about the patient.
I have not heard the tape so I cannot verify this. But it is whats reported in the media. I know you have to take that with a grain of salt.
I also know what hospitals say to one is not necessarily so

Working in the hospital system, there is no way that I would believe the hospital management when they say there would be no disciplinary action taken. This nurse has broken the law and also breached the code of conduct of the UK health service and the code of conduct of the hospital she worked for. She would be very familiar with this sort of situation as normal people always try to call up and get confidential medical information about patients. So she would be use to handling this kind of sensitive situation.
However - I am a nurse. yes she did the wrong thing but try to understand it from her perspective. The DJs were posing as the queen. You don't refuse the head of state. So I can see where she would have felt intimidated.
Her career would be over having done this. Its instant dismissal. Hospital executives do not support this kind of breach and deal with it very seriously (and that is for common people) not to mention it happening to Royals.
My opinion is that the DJs and the radio station management should be charged. The DJs at least for Fraud.
So I can understand how this could have become ALL too much for her to bear and for her to suicide.
Yes Vanderhooven (sorry if i spelt it wrong) the hospital executives should be investigated to see how they were handling it by external investigators.

by Aussie Oz inhad a phone call from my son today.... he rang his jw mother to give her some news and found out the school his little half siblings go to was having an end of year play.
he was pretty excited apparently and asked if he could come along and this is how it went.... "no, it is for family.
for our family not for children who never speak or visit us.".

Sending letters to the editor of newspapers{ Herald Sun}VIC. Aust.
by smiddy intheir have been a number of times i have sent a letter to a newspaper on- line that while acknowledging my letter it ,never gets into print ,so i`m `just wondering if their could be a person in the media who is a witness and just deletes my enquirey.
in another state i lived in, a witness, no 2 witnesses worked at the newspaper house and could have had an influence on what goes to press .
i`m just wondering .. smiddy.

Im in Sydney and I sent the Oct 1 letter to all BOE re: child abuse to the sydney morning herald, the australian and the daily telegraph.
To my knowledge nothing was printed. i would have thought they would have wanted to expose this.

NewChapter: Maybe I was an half-hour late giving my daughter a dose of medicine. Well this was just unforgivable! I must not love her. Now the medication won't work properly! Maybe she'll get sicker. Maybe she'll die. That would make me a murderer of my own child. I'm a horrible person. I'm worthless. So much better if I wasn't born. I'm the worst mother in the world. If I was dead, someone better could take care of her.
Although you don't say this but I think its important to be clear for readers if someone is thinking in a pattern like this. They really should be assessed by a psychiatrist and not just a general practitioner. The reason is this type of thinking is a symptom of mental illness and would need a comprehensive mental health assessment to diagnose and get treatment right. So the priority should be an assessment by a psychiatrist.
However your point is that sometimes thinking can be erroneous for want of a better word and there is therapy that mental health professionals use to treat patients call cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). But it is more important to get someone acutely ill treated with medication.
